Below are a few of the many special events hosted by the New Hope and Ivyland Railroad. Click on an event for more details.

 

Evening Star Dinner Train

Dinner Trains have returned to The New Hope & Ivyland Railroad, New Hope, PA.

Passengers can ride the rails in first class comfort, enjoying dinner and cocktails while appreciating the changing scene provided by the historic Bucks County.

Ticket price includes:

2 hour round trip to Buckingham Valley.

Served dinner includes:

SALAD (choose one)
-Mixed greens tossed with balsamic vinaigrette.

ENTREES (choose one)
Catfish
-Seared catfish fillet topped with a Creole beurre blanc and served over smashed red bliss potatoes and seasonal vegetable

Beef Stir Fry
-Bok choy, broccoli, red onion, carrots, red peppers, cabbage, and tender strips of beef tossed in a Negimayaki sauce served over ginger rice

Mediterranean Chicken
-Breaded and fried chicken breast topped with a caper & brown butter emulsion served over smashed red bliss potatoes and seasonal vegetable

Penne Pasta
(Vegetarian/Vegan)
-Fusilli pasta tossed with white wine, garlic, saffron, pine nuts and currants. Topped with shaved Parmesan.


DESSERT
Berry Shortcake
-Fresh local berries layered between whipped cream and shortcake topped with blackberry coulis

The Evening Star Dinner Train operates on the following dates:

- August 2nd, 16th, & 30th
- September 6th & 20th
- October 4th & 11th
- November 8th

- Passengers may begin boarding the train at 7:00pm

-Cocktails are served starting at 7:00pm

-Train departs for Buckingham Valley 7:30pm - Dinner served

-Train returns to New Hope Station 9:30pm

-Casual attire is suggested.

-Smoking is not permitted onboard the train.

-The railroad reserves the right to alter schedules and substitute equipment as operating conditions demand.

-These tickets are non-exchangeable, non-refundable.

Song and Story Hour

Song & Story Hour

On Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11am, 12 noon and 1pm June 12 through August 28th the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad will be operating Song and Story Hour trains out of the New Hope Train station. Children can ride aboard the train while enjoying their favorite stories and sing along songs performed by local musicians.

A great way to spend time with the family.

The "Grapevine Express"

Join us for a Romantic Wine and Cheese Excursion at 5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays thru October. Ride the rails in first class comfort in our beautifully restored, air conditioned Parlor Car, enjoying fine cheeses, crackers and exclusive vintage from local wineries. Additional Alcoholic and Non Alcoholic beverages are also available onboard All passengers onboard the Wine and Cheese Excursion must be 21 years of age or older.

Note: Each table seats up to 4 passengers in a group, additional passengers will be seated at an adjacent table.

Railfan Weekend

Railfan Weekend - Sept. 27th & 28th

This is one time during the year when the Railroad operates the steam locomotive over the entire Railroad. Pulling vintage freight cars, the steam locomotive mimics a 1940's local freight train performing photo run-by's for the passengers onboard.

Featuring:
- All day steam powered freight train to Ivyland both days.
- Complementary Locomotive cab rides (first come first serve).
- Multiple photo run by's at least 10 different locations.
- Lunch and soft drinks included.

Reservations are strongly suggested.

Weekend schedule:
Saturday & Sunday:

9:30am - depart New Hope
Steam w/vintage freight train to Ivyland
(All passengers will recieve a box lunch and soft drinks)
5:00pm - return New Hope

Replica #40 builders plate. A brass replica of #40's original builders plate installed on the locomotive in December 1925.

Weekends in October
"Fall Foliage Trains"

Join us aboard the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad for a 2-1/2 hour, 35 mile rare opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Bucks County fall colors over the length of our entire Railroad.

Every weekend in October, the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad will operate regularly scheduled round trip trains out of New Hope Station and SEPTA's Warminster station. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the beautiful fall scenery while riding aboard our Open Air Car, First Class Bar Car or antique seat coach.

Now available "THE SHOPPERS EXPRESS"
...catch the 10:30am train out of Warminster and spend the afternoon in New Hope shopping & dining returning to Warminster on the 3:00pm train. Tickets for this train are available for purchase onboard.

Trains depart SEPTA's Warminster Station at:
10:30am & 1:15pm

Every Weekend in October
Starting October 4th

SEPTA's Warminster station is located 1/4 mile from the intersection of Street Rd. and Jacksonville Rd. in Warminster, PA.

Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks available onboard.

Fall Foliage Special
Trick or Treat Train

"Trick or Treat Trains"

Bring the entire family out for a 9 mile, one hour round trip to Lahaska aboard the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad's Annual Trick or Treat train. Help us make a truly frightful sight! Children of all ages are encouraged to come dressed in costume and will receive halloween candy onboard the train. Afterwards, trick or treat around the station for more surprises!

"Halloween Trains"

This year, take a ride on the dark side onboard the Haunted Halloween Train. Do you trust yourself to be at the mercy of your own Nightmares? When this ghost train leaves the safety of the station, you are tossed into the hands of the unknown. Ghosts, ghouls and goblins are sure to frighten the strongest of heart, and test the nerve of all onboard. Unlike most, Halloween spectaculars, there are NO bars, locks or gates to hold back our crazed beings, so we CAUTION you to STAY ON GUARD! We cant even control their blood thirsty souls, or guarantee the fate of our passengers. For this reason, our Crypt keeper asks that you come prepared for anything.

Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre Returns to New Hope Line!

The New Hope & Ivyland Railroad and Act 1 Productions bring you "The Chameleon" on select dates for an edge-of-your-seat, whodunit? evening of suspense!

"North Pole Express"

Ride the rails with Santa, Mrs. Claus and a host of holiday revelers for a truly unique holiday season experience the whole family will be sure to enjoy.

Children and adults of all ages are invited to ride this special holiday train. Listen to a story, have free hot cocoa and cookies while Santa visits with each child onboard and presents them with a special gift.

Weekday trains depart at:
11:00am, 12:30pm, 2:00pm, 3:30pm, 5:15pm, and 6:45pm

Weekend trains (including Friday evenings) depart at:

First class service is available on all trains. First class passengers are entitled to private bar service (21 and older). First class passengers also board the train immediately (no waiting in line). First to board the train and first to de-board upon returning to the train station. (Seating is limited).

Reservations are strongly suggested. Ticket prices are higher at the Ticket Window on the day of the event.
