Open Air Car #1525 Makes it's Debut

New Hope, PA - July 13, 2010 - Newly restored Open Air Car #1525 graces the rails of the New Hope and Ivyland Railroad for the first time in over 25 years. After 20 plus years of storage and three years of extensive restoration, this car enters service with a new career since it was built for the Reading Company in 1925.

Open Air Car #1525 features a unique ride and offers a new level of service. Passengers can now enjoy the breeze and scenic surroundings with an un-obstructed view of the Bucks County countryside. In addition to the passing views outside the train, the interior provides its own distinctive atmosphere with two-tone finished woodwork, unique metal fabrication and a rear observation platform. #1525 was carefully restored from the rails up by the dedicated staff of the NH&I.

"It's nice to save a piece of history," says Paul Harland, General Manager of Passenger Operations for the New Hope & Ivyland, "Had we not restored this car its fate would be unknown. Now that it's complete the most rewarding part is sharing it with others so that everyone can enjoy what we've accomplished".

Mr. Harland also feels that history plays and important part in everyone's lives and that it is important that children of future generations experience the days of the past.

The New Hope and Ivyland Railroad also offers, Parking, Public Restrooms, ATM, Gift Shop and a Cash Bar onboard all trains serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks.
