LOCOMOTIVE CAB RIDE

Experience the ride of your life!

ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE

This is your opportunity to ride in the locomotive cab with the Engineer and the crew during a round-trip excursion. During the ride, you’ll get to experience what railroading is like from the cab of the locomotive and view all of the equipment that our engineer and crew use!

This is a unique adventure and a lifelong memory. Available on most of our excursions and
limited availability to one cab rider per excursion departure time.
Reserve your e-Tickets early. Must be 18 years of age or older to participate.

Walk up e-tickets for this adventure that may be available on the day of your visit, availability permitting. Check with any Gift Shop Associate upon your arrival.

Locomotive Cab Rides Are Not Available At This Time

CAB RIDE REQUIREMENTS

  • Cab Rider MUST be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • No more than one (1) rider in the cab at any one time.
  • Cab Rider must be able to stand, walk, sit and climb stairs without assistance and without the aid of an assisting device.
  • The use of a digital camera for photography is permitted, however, only when the train is stopped and the Engineer gives permission to do so.
  • All mobile phones must be TURNED OFF.
  • No self-contained breathing equipment (oxygen) or service animals.
  • All riders must wear proper clothing (shorts, skirts, and tank tops are not permitted). Full-length slacks or jeans are required.
  • No open-toed shoes (sandals, flip flops, etc.) or high heels.
  • Cab rides may not be available on some departures.
  • CAB RIDER MUST ARRIVE AT LEAST 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED DEPARTURE TIME.
  • Your safety and the safety of all passengers and crew aboard the train is our number one priority.
  • Our engine crew’s primary responsibility is to operate the train safely and efficiently. While engineers and conductors are free to converse with you at their discretion, there are important duties they must attend to, without becoming distracted. Riders must carefully and completely follow all instructions from the engine crew. Failure to do so will force the crew to stop the train and remove the cab rider from the locomotive cab without exception.
  • Climbing into the cab requires strength, balance, and agility using both arms and both legs. Stairs are open metal grates. Steel decking surfaces may be slippery or uneven. The sensation of motion within the locomotive cab is different than aboard a passenger rail car.
  • Riders may find space in the locomotive compact and confining. Diesel fuel, coal-burning smell and exhaust fumes, horns, bells, and mechanical noises are part of the sensory experience riders must be prepared for.
  • All terms and conditions are subject to change without liability and notice.
